Welcome to Protea Patch
Protea Patch is a specialist retail nursery at 545 Matakana Road, Matakana, offering a wide range of Proteaceae plants, including Protea, Leucadendron, and Grevillea. Open on weekends with a mail-order service available, we provide quality, hardy plants suited to New Zealand conditions.
Please check by phone/email/text if we are open. 9 am to 1 pm Saturday and Sunday and selected Week days 9 am to 1 pm or by appointment.

Check by phone or text if we are open or closed on commercially restricted public holidays, e.g. Easter, Anzac Day, and for 1 week from Christmas Eve.
Plant Availability
New season stock will be available from autumn onwards with the website catalogues adjusted accordingly.
If a variety is out of stock, the product will be marked as currently unavailable and we will be happy to offer suggestions for a substitute.
Planting Season
Autumn-winter planting is recommended to maximise root development prior to spring-summer growth.
Mail Order
Plants are usually delivered within 2 or 4 days in open boxes holding up to 5 plants x 3 litre root containers, or up to 9 plants x 1.5 litre root container pots. Courier charges are based on a 10kg box [not per plant].
