Protea Passion

A Protea Eximea hybrid. Flowering is from early Autumn through to Spring. It is an adaptable Protea with a compact growth habit that grows well in most well drained acidic soils in full sun. Water well once a week during long dry spells to establish. Large flower with lime coloured rose tipped bracts surrounding a distinct deep maroon protruding central floral mass. An attractive and unique flower. Prune well in mid-Spring to enhance flowering the following year. Avoid phosphate fertilisers. Useful cutflower.
